A winter storm is heading towards Vail Ski Resort! The National Weather Service is forecasting that 1 to 3 inches of new snow could fall Wednesday night and into late Thursday morning. The storm will first bring rain into the area by Wednesday afternoon then turn into snow after midnight, lowering the snow elevation to 6,000 feet as temperatures drop into the high 20s.

This early winter storm will surely put any ski or snowboarder enthusiast in a good mood because it reminds us that the winter season is almost here. The new snow should remain fairly intact with daytime temperatures only be in the low 50s with partly clouds during the next couple days.

Vail sees over 300 days of sunshine per year, but averages over 350 inches of snow during the winter.
