Today the Sunice brand announced the addition of seasoned ski apparel design professional Grace A. Galdi to their team.  Galdi has been named the Vice-President of Design and Merchandising – Snow for the brand.  With a successful ski apparel design career spanning over 30 years, Galdi will only enhance Sunice’s position as the thought leader in modern ski apparel.  “I’m thrilled to join the Sunice brand and have the chance to blend my background and experience with their exciting opportunities and future prospects.  It’s a perfect match!” says Galdi.

A graduate from the University of Vermont with a Bachelor of Science in Clothing, Textiles, and Design; Galdi has also studied specialized fashion design at the American Fashion College in Switzerland.  In addition, she has worked for other prominent ski and snow apparel manufacturers such as Marker LTD, Slalom Skiwear, and Powderhorn.  In her career, she has proven to be a specialist in feminine design as well as an overall expert in all facets of ski apparel.  For the last several months, she has worked with the Sunice Brand on designing their upcoming 2010-2011 ski apparel line.

Cultivating a great deal of respect in the ski industry over the years, Galdi has brought her technical design expertise and infused it into the upcoming Sunice collection.  Already a leader with the Gore-Tex offering, the Sunice 2010-2011 ski line will have completely redesigned technical pieces.  “Ms. Galdi has been an integral part of this redesign,” says Mark Fletcher, President of Sunice, “we are very pleased to have her as a part of our team.”  The new 2010-2011 line will also have a restructured price point for the consumer in these challenging economic times without compromising the brand quality or resorting to offering a dull, plain product.  These are modern styles that are intended especially for today’s skier and their performance needs.  In addition, Galdi and Sunice have weaved in the feedback and suggestions from retailers and consumers in order to assure a line that meets all of the user’s needs.

Sunice is owned by The Fletcher Leisure Group of Canada.  The company was originally born from the merging of a clothing designer and manufacturer of firefighter uniforms in 1976.  Today it is a performance-enhancing outerwear brand that uses advanced technologies, fabrics, and manufacturing methods.  The 2010-2011 ski line will bring a new definition to performance technology for ski outerwear.
