Amazing Race Ski Season 2009/10: First Resort Openings

Early season snow, natural or man made, has fallen across several ski resorts already. Most recently Whistler & Mount Bachelor received some natural snow. The forecast for Park City today calls for 4-6 inches while Sunday River fired up its snowguns last Saturday. The amazing race is well underway to become the first ski resort to open for the 2009/10 season. Although early season snow is not a surefire indicator of opening day, as mountain operations have their own timelines, it certainly gets the ski areas, skiers and snowboarders pumped up for the winter.

Below is the list of North American ski resorts that are opening soon as compiled by On The Snow. All bets are on. Who will open first? Our money are on resorts not listed: Arapahoe Basin, Loveland or Sunday River. Tell us your picks below.
