Pacific tsunami in Samoa leaves over a hundred dead, many villages destroyed

Here at The Ski Channel, we are very conscious of natural disasters and their ensuing impact on the world.  In the mountains, avalanches can strike at any time and endanger the lives of many.  With this in mind, we would like to send our thoughts and well wishes to those in Samoa who have been affected by the deadly tsunami.  Over 100 people have been confirmed dead in Samoa, American Samoa, and Tonga.  The tsunami was triggered by an earthquake, and hit the Samoan islands on Tuesday, and, in some cases, swallowed entire coastal towns and villages.  The Hawaii National Guard has sent troops to help with the relief operation, and 20 officials from FEMA will be sent to American Samoa.
