There are now 110 confirmed dead with 80 from Samoa and 30 from Tonga and American Samoa with many still missing.  The death toll is likely to rise.

The official number of dead in Samoa currently stands at 80, with another 30 dead in Tonga and American Samoa. Many are still missing.  Hospitals have been flooded and can’t handle all the injured.  It is certainly a state of emergency.

A New Zealand Air Force c130 Hercules left for Samoa this morning with water containers, tents generators, a temporary morgue, victim identification equipment, communication support and engineers were also on the flight.

Help from different parts of the world is starting to land in Samoa.
