Copper Mountain started blowing snow last night

If you were sleeping on the hillsides of Copper Mountain last night, you heard the Heavenly-Sound-of-Shhhhhhh-Video-of-Snow-Guns-at-Loveland” target=”_blank”>heavenly sound of “shhhhhhh.”  Yep, Copper Mountain has begun making snow!  The countdown is on, only 36 days until the planned opening of Copper Mountain, scheduled for November 6.  Have you purchased your Rocky Mountain Super Pass yet?

Of course, Copper does not simply open the doors on that first day.  They do it proper style, with a weekend festival dubbed “Lift Off.”  It’s presented by Sprint (sponsorship love is always important).  The fifth annual Lift Off will feature screenings of the latest ski and snowboard flicks, live music, and giveaways.

For terrain park junkies, Copper will have its first 22-foot Superpipe.  The big beast will debut on the big stage at the USSA Grand Prix.  The first qualifying event for a coveted spot on the U.S. Olympic halfpipe team happens at Copper December 10-13.

Lodging deals for the winter time are on the mega-super-saver level, with third nights free.  Check it now and save $25 per day, if booked before Halloween.

Snow blowin’, money savin’, Sprint sponsorin’, superpipe buildin’, and festival throwin’, that’s the run down for Copper Mountain.  Amen.
