Deer Valley Resort employees are welcoming the public for a bloody Halloween! The resort is set to host a “Transylvania Tea Party” blood drive on Friday, October 30, 2009. The Transylvania Tea Party Blood Drive first took place six years ago, when Deer Valley staffers wanted to help local healthcare facilities boost their blood supplies.

“This event has become a Halloween season tradition,” says Kim Mayhew, Resort director of human resources. “Many employees find it fun to get dressed up and get together for a common goal and to help support a worthy cause. Last year we had over 100 donors participate and many were our friends and neighbors from around the community. We truly appreciate the community’s support of this event.”

Deer Valley’s Transylvania Tea Party Blood Drive will take place Friday, October 30 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Snow Park Lodge in the 2002 Room. The Blood Drive is open to the public. Walk-ins are welcome, but all are encouraged to make an appointment by calling 435-645-6654. Light refreshments will be provided.

Donors must bring a photo ID, be 18 or older and weigh at least 110 pounds. To find out if you are eligible to give blood, please consult the ARUP Blood Services website at ARUP Blood Services—an enterprise of the University of Utah and the Department of Pathology, will be conducting the drive and is proud to be the sole blood provider to University of Utah Hospital, Huntsman Cancer Hospital, Primary Children’s Medical Center and Shriners Hospital for Children.
