Winter has struck, and it’s cast its first blow pretty hard! Utah saw its first snow yesterday—about six to 12 inches depending on the location, and at least another 12 inches is due to fall this weekend.

Hikers will likely hit the backcountry, though most resorts like Snowbird, the Canyons and Park City Mountain Resort are due to open on November 21. Alta may open earlier, if the snow permits.

In the meantime, fall goes on as planned, with the Snowbird Oktoberfest running until October 11.
