X Games snowboarder Louie Vito survives bottom three on Dancing with the Stars

You gotta give the guy props for trying. U.S. Team Snowboard half-pipe and slopestyle rider Louie Vito had never danced before his stint on Dancing with the Stars, nor had he ever watched the show on television. So when he faced elimination the other night along with model Kathy Ireland and actress Debi Mazar, you couldn’t really knock him. Thankfully (and apologies for saying so), Ireland got the boot and Vito could stay to dance again with his partner Chelsie Hightower.

Thing is, Vito’s scores Monday night seated him comfortably in the middle of the pack, which can only mean that he didn’t get enough votes. Even if you’re not a fan of DWTS, vote for Louie next week. He’s a snowboarder. He’s one of your peeps. And if anything, all that dancing and fancy footwork will help him prep (albeit unconventionally) for the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver. Because when Vito’s shredding the pipe at Cypress next winter, your votes won’t be able to count.
