Sage Cattabriga-Alosa skis off into Laird Hamilton infamy on Alaska’s Hotel Room

Sage Cattabriga-Alosa was scared.  That is a headline in itself.  The bravest of brave big mountain skiers cowboys the razor’s edge of what is possible on skis.  It’s truly breathtaking, monumental, and on par with Laird Hamilton’s legendary ride at Chopu (Teahupoo).

It’s called “Hotel Room.”  Only three folks have made descents down this Alaskan spine field: Sage, Seth Morrison, and Jeremy Jones.  Sage’s epic performance down Hotel Room appeared in TGR’s Under the Influence, rightfully winning him the 2009 Powder Mag awards for “Best Line” and “Best POV.”

Sage was quoted in an ESPN article, “It’s definitely one of the gems of my career, one of the trophies, for sure. And one of the more difficult too, both mentally with the picking apart of just how to try and do it, and also as far as the exposure level.”

It all comes courtesy of TGR’s Episode 14 of Behind the Line.  One of the steepest, craziest, and yes, scariest lines in the world.  This is must see stuff.
