What the UK lacks in 14,000 foot peaks, it makes up in indoor ski slopes. Skiing is a popular sport in Great Briton, but the islanders have to jump on planes and trains to reach the peaks in other countries. But that has given rise to a thriving indoor skiing scene. There are six indoor facilities across the island nation that enable skiers and boarders to enjoy the snow year round and close to home. The facilities are a great way to stay in shape and improve skills so when you do splurge on your next Alps ski getaway, you are ready to go!
