The lovely Dame Elizabeth Taylor has announced, via Twitter, that she is going into the hospital for a procedure on her heart. She said, “I would like to let you know before it gets in the papers that I am going into the hospital to have a procedure on my heart. Very new and involves repairing my leaky valve using a clip device, without open heart surgery, so that my heart will function better.” We hope this goes smoothly. Unfortunately for her, this means she may have to avoid her favorite ski spot in Gstaad, Switzerland for a while. According to the NetDoctor medical team, “The higher the altitude at which you ski, the more you will risk running out of sufficient oxygen. Therefore, it is essential that your…heart is pumping efficiently enough to oxygenate your muscles during prolonged exertion. You should certainly stay well below 10,000 feet”. Bummer for her. But, health always comes first. Get well Liz!
