continues this weekend in Berlin

This weekend marks the second stop of the events in Europe. The best freestyle skiers, snowboarders, skateboarders, and fmx riders will descend upon Berlin, Germany for the festivities. For skiers, they not only hope to start the season off strongly by winning the big air event, but also by being crowned crossover champion.

The crossover session pits athletes from the four represented disciplines against one another. Each sport is led by a group of their top athletes, as they perform three runs until only one athlete from one sport is named the overall winner. The sole judge is the roaring crowd. Zurich freeski winner, Sammy Carlson, looks to defend his title against another stacked field. However, it’s worth noting that there will be some major shake-ups on the athlete roster for this stop.

Freestyle skiers Laurent Favre (FRA), Rory Bushfield (CAN), and Tom Wallisch (USA) will not be returning to the in Berlin, after competing in Zurich. At the Zurich contest, Wallisch and Favre finished in 5th and 7th place respectively, so the opportunity is there for other skiers to make a jump. Their replacements for the Berlin contest include Richard Permin (FRA), Oscar Scherlin (SWE), and Simon Dumont (USA).

Live online streams are available at starting Friday October 9th.
