Acting CEO of the U.S. Olympic Committee Stephanie Streeter has told the press on Wednesday that she will not be a candidate for the full position.  Streeter became the CEO of the committee when pressure from the United States Olympic Council led ot the resignation of then CEO Jim Scherr.  The USOC chairman Larry Probst stated that the “board members were disappointed by Streeter’s decision not to seek the job.”

Streeter and Probst have taken the most blame for Chicago not receiving the winning vote for the 2016 Olympics.  Probst added, “We are all very grateful for her many contributions to the U.S. Olympic movement.  We’re very pleased she has agreed to stay on in her current capacity until the search for a permanent CEO is concluded and a candidate is named.”  The USOC will be hiring a staffing firm later this month to fill the position.
