If you’ve been watching pro football during the last few days, you probably noticed players catching balls with pink gloves or running down the field in pink shoes. Well, it’s not a fashion statement, but it is for a very good cause. The month of October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and in Vail, two local spas are offering a variety of ways to show support.

The Aria Spa & Club at Vail Cascade will donate five dollars to the Shaw Cancer Center for every massage, facial and body treatment. The Bachelor Gulch Spa at the Ritz-Carlton will donate ten percent of its proceeds from every treatment to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

On Oct. 17, the tennis center at the Aria Spa & Club will also host “Rally for the Cure.” The two-part event begins with a longest rally contest with prizes going to the team with the most consecutive hits from the baseline. After the rally contest, teams will take part in a doubles round robin competition where they will have the opportunity to buy vouchers to improve their score. Vouchers cost between $5 and $10 and all the proceeds will go to the Komen Foundation.

The Bachelor Gulch Spa will offer “pink” treatments that range from therapeutic body experiences to soothing facials that any skier or snowboarder could easily indulge in. The body treatments are $135 an hour, while the facials are $125 an hour.

Either way you look at it, these treatments will put your body at ease and prepare you for the upcoming winter season. And there’s no better place to do it than in Vail.
