Vail Resorts stock up five percent on early ski season news

The stock price for Vail Resorts Inc. (MTN:NYSE) rose five percent today to close at $34.39 up $1.63 from previous day’s close on a high volume of 718,609 shares traded. An early start to the ski season likely helped boost the stock. Loveland Ski Area in Colorado was the first to open in North America today. It was their earliest opening in 40 years. Other ski resorts will open soon with favorable weather conditions across the country. Vail Resorts is the parent company of mountain resorts Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Keystone and Heavenly.
