High school skiers looking to jump start their competitive season can take advantage of a concentrated weekend coaching program that includes top training, video analysis, tech talks and more, all for little more than the price of a weekend lift ticket.

Stratton Mountain ski resort offers its inaugural Stratton Race Camp to students ages 14‐18 over three weekends in December. Starting on Friday evening and ending on Sunday afternoon, these camps focus on skill development, race technique, gate training, race preparation from dryland training and stretching to nutrition and much more.

“These camps are one of a kind,” said Head Coach Neiko Ranzinger, a PSIA Level 3 coach who has been at Stratton for 23 years. “The athlete will be able to refine their skills, and will learn a preparation to be used before any race.

The camp, which includes breakfast, lunch and Saturday night dinner, is $250 for one weekend, $460 for two weekends and $600 for all three weekend sessions. Discounted rates apply for groups of 10 or more, as well as discounts on lodging for those requiring overnight accommodation. With 95 percent snowmaking coverage and ‘gold medal’ grooming, skiers who may not have the luxury of snow on their own slopes will have it during their stay at Stratton.

“While this is a program with an emphasis on specific skills and improvement, it’s also an opportunity to meet new friends and share their passion for the sport.”

And while not on the slopes, racers can take advantage of the Sports Center with indoor pool, pick up the latest in gear and apparel in Stratton Village, find expert boot fitting at the First Run Ski Shop and enjoy all the activities and amenities of a premier mountain resort.
