Friday was the first parallel race of the 2010 World Cup season.  The comp was held in a gigantic refrigerator, SnowWorld Landgraaf in Germany.  The two pre-race favorites took care of biz with Germany’s Amelie Kober and Austria’s Benjamin Karl winning.

Karl, the 2009 Parallel Slalom World Champ took down Mathieu Bozzetto of France in the finals for his second win in a row indoors at Landgraaf.  Canada’s Jasey Jay Anderson took third.

The second place showing for Bozzetto had the Frenchman psyched, since he was returning from injury.  Karl was impressed with Bozzetto. “It’s amazing how he came back after such a long break. OK, I know that he wouldn’t forget how to snowboard but this was impressive. He is an inspiring example.”
