Per the Salt Lake Tribune, American ski racing icon Lindsey Vonn has gotten inspiration and help from another female ski racing icon, Picabo Street.  Street won two Olympic medals, a gold in the Super-G the same year that Jonny Moseley turned on the charm and became a household name and a silver in the Lillehammer Games. She also won two World Cup titles and three world championship medals.

“It’s always nice to have someone who knows what you have been through and can relate to you and a have that person support you,” said Vonn.  “If I have a problem, if I’m at the Olympics and I’m freaking out – I know I can always call her.  So that is really comforting.”

After Vonn had her crash at the 2006 Turin Olympics, Street was at the hospital by LIndsey’s side helping her get through it.  Lindsey is now skiing out of the Vail ski resort and has taken them on as a sponsor.
