Cost of living drops in Colorado

If you don’t already live in Colorado, you may be asking yourself the same question I ask myself on a regular basis: Why don’t I move there?? Coming from a big city, nothing seems more appealing to me than living in a small, quiet ski town. Home to Aspen, Vail, Arapahoe, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Copper Mountain, Crested Butte…I could go on…it just seems perfect.

Now may be a better time than ever to make the move too! It’s been reported that the cost of living has definitely decreased throughout the state. But, there has to be some bad with the good. Because of the lower cost of living, the state has lowered minimum wage from $7.28 to $7.24. The 4 pennies do make a difference. However, employers do not have to adjust to this, they are free to keep paying their minimum wage earners the same wages. Let’s hope there are some good hearted business owners out there who can swing it.

So, even with the drop in minimum wage, I’m clamoring for a move to Colorado. The cost of living is down, and the whole state is a skier’s paradise! Let’s do it!
