The kidnapping case of South Lake Tahoe girl Jaycee Lee Dugard has made national and global headlines, and today, Oprah Winfrey will host a special show that focuses on missing children, and specifically, Dugard.  Although she will not have Dugard on the show, she will speak with the two police officers from the University of California at Berkeley, who were suspicious of Phillip Garrido when he was on campus asking to give out brochures.  The officers ran a background check on Garrido, which led to a meeting with his parole officer and then his eventual arrest.

He and wife Nancy are charged with 29 felony counts, including kidnapping and rape.  Dugard disappeared from the bus stop in her ski resort town back in 1991, and while in captivity, she fathered two daughters with Garrido.  There are rumors that Dugard will appear on the Oprah show in December, but no confirmation has come from the Dugard camp.
