Abominable Sports, in conjunction with The Eddie Buger, and the Town of Banff are inviting all of the children in Banff a chance to learn how to ski this winter.  The program, dubbed “Everybody Gets to Ski” will take place on Saturday October 24th and will provide “recreational ski and snowboard equipment free of charge to children and families on limited budgets.” Program organizer Felix Belczyk told reporters that “What we are trying to do is give every kid in Banff the opportunity to have ski equipment. For the last couple years our organization has tried to facilitate that.”

An equipment drive is planned for the Friday before the event where volunteers will accept any donation and will even “pick up equipment if the owner has no way of getting it to us.”  Belczyk says that they are mostly looking for “gently used skis, snowboards, poles, boots, helmets and clothing.”  He hopes that people who “may not have been able to sell their gear” will “drop it off in the bin and we will take care of it from that point.”
