Viper SmartStart iPhone app comes in handy on a powder day

Imagine the first powder day of the season. You’re getting ready to drive to the ski slopes but it’s bitter cold outside and there’s 18 inches of snow and ice on your car. You’d normally spend at least another 15 minutes warming up the car and scraping snow and ice off your vehicle.

Here’s where the Viper SmartStart iPhone app comes in handy. While you’re having breakfast in the warmth and comfort of your ski lodge, dial up your iPhone to remotely start your car. By the time you’re done with breakfast, your car will be nicely warmed up and removing all that ice and snow will be a breeze. You can also open the trunk, lock/arm, unlock/disarm, or activate the panic feature all via the iPhone.

A SmartStart module installed in your vehicle connects to a cellular network which communicates with the iPhone. The system allows your phone to function as a key fob but has greater range. Key fobs generally have a range of 30 to 100 feet. With the Viper SmartStart for the iPhone, you can perform all these functions from anywhere within cell range.

The system price goes from $299 for the add on module to $499 for a complete kit. Annual fee is $29.99 with the first year included in the price of the module.
