Balloon boy found in attic before Nancy Grace could turn it into a ratings bonanza

Before Nancy Grace could fire up the “Where is Falcon?”, the six-year-old who was thought to have floated away on a homemade weather balloon, was instead hiding in a box in the attic of Fort Collins, Colorado.

TV crews followed the balloon for hours as it floated 6500 feet above the Colorado skies.  When the balloon finally came down in a farm field, little Falcon Heene was nowhere to be found.  Neighbors had reported seeing something fall from the balloon, and the worst was presumed.

This was the second bout of TV fame for the Heene family.  They had participated in the ABC reality show Wife Swap.  The balloon was homemade and constructed so the Heenes could search for aliens.

No doubt it’s the aliens that are laughing today at the comedy of the boy who rode a weather balloon, but didn’t.
