Don’t you just love hearing good economic news?  In this flat is the new great era, Mammoth Mountain’s opening day attendance blew by last years number by over 1000%.  No lie – last year they had between 500 and 600 people on opening day and Friday the cool Eastern Sierra ski resort packed in 5000 to 6000 skiers and snowboarders!  How is that for a freakin number!

We caught up with Armada’s Chris O’Connell who said that he was taking his entire company.  Good on you Chris!  If you couldn’t already tell, we at The Ski Channel are huge fans of Mammoth Mountain.  If you are a skier or a boarder who really cares about the slide down the hill, then you will be a fan as well, because there just aren’t many better skiing mountains in the world.

Mammoth has always been the place where you can ski late into the season.  Sometimes you can catch the 4th of July fireworks on their slopes, but they haven’t always been thought of as the early birds.  And now look at this!

If you haven’t skied Mammoth – trust us when we say that you have to!
