Cataloochee Ski Area must postpone opening

Oh no! The weather has foiled us again! North Carolina’s Cataloochee Ski Area was supposed to open today, but alas. The weather has warmed and, for the second night in a row, the folks over there were unable to make enough snow to justify an opening today. Cataloochee’s website released a statement: “Due to an unexpected temperature inversion last night, we were unable to make snow like we had anticipated. We will NOT be opening on Monday, October 19th as planned. We apologize to everyone who had planned on coming out and helping us usher in the new season.”

Sorry folks! It’ll happen soon though, don’t you worry! That is, unless the Antarctic ice melts faster than expected…
