Buzz Schleper, owner of Buzz’s Ski Shop in Vail Village, is planning a ski and snowboarding swap this weekend at the resort to raise funds to send his daughter Sarah to her fourth Winter Olympic Games.  According to Buzz, his daughter needs “roughly $40,000 to get her through the winter.”  The Schlepers are hoping to raise a percentage of that this weekend.  The swap is said to include equipment from Buzz’s, and “a pair of other Vail shops, the Double Diamond and Ski Base, and Diva’s, a shop in Boulder.”

Sarah Schleper has reportedly “had an excellent training season,” and is “stronger than ever, and really wants to bring home an Olympic medal, and maybe a few World Cup podiums.”  The American Alpine skier won the World Cup in slalom in 2005, and has finished in top ten in the World Cup 15 times.
