Cross country ski for 100 miles in Canada

Fancy yourself an endurance athlete? If so, then you’ve probably at least tried cross country skiing. It’s really a lot harder than it looks!! If you’re up for the challenge, you should participate in the Canadian Ski Marathon February 13th and 14th of next year. 100 miles in 2 days. There are 5 “sections” a day, so basically you go 10 miles before getting a food station.

If you’re the competitive type, you can try to be the first to finish, but this isn’t really a race. It’s just a great way to experience the beautiful Western Laurentian Mountains between Lachute and Gatineau, in Québec. And to get some gnarly good exercise.

Although it’s not a race, you have to finish the first four sections by 3:15 PM each day in order to be allowed to ski the final section. I guess that’s so no one gets stranded in the dark, alone, crying for their mommies. Anyhow, check out their website for more info.
