Weather for Soelden World Cup opener to be perfect all weekend

Although today was slightly misty and foggy in Soelden, Austria, the weather report calls for mostly sun tomorrow for the women’s race, and partial cloudiness for Sunday’s men’s GS. Temps have been unusually mild, though not warm enough to melt the course. In fact, according to a release from Soelden, there’s a record number of Fan Clubs signed up for this year’s Audi FIS World Cup opener, and an increased number of spectators expected—so much so that the resort created a bigger spectating area at the bottom of the course. The sun and warm temperatures should make for a perfect weekend for all involved. We look forward to seeing Lindsey Vonn, Ted Ligety and the rest of the U.S. Ski Team shine!
