Steamboat Springs is making an effort to promote itself as a biking destination on par with the best in the world. This year Steamboat held the first Steamboat Springs Stage Race that drew over 300 racers, saw a new trail made on Emerald Mountain, and witnessed the creation of the Gravity Team, a new winter sports and mountain biking club. Next year, Steamboat is on track to host a Lance Armstrong Foundation LIVESTRONG mountain biking race, and Steamboat Ski and Resort Corp. might build new trails for freeride mountain biking. Steamboat is already one of the best ski and board mountains in North America, now it aims to be a world class mountain biking mecca as well!
