Vail Resorts no longer cares about buying The Canyons

Back in 2007, the American Skiing Company (not in existence anymore) said it would sell The Canyons ski resort in Utah to the Talisker Corporation (in Toronto) for $100 million (chump change). Well, the Vail Resorts said no way, buddy. They filed a lawsuit claiming American Skiing Company already agreed to sell the resort to them.

Well, last week Vail dropped the suit and said they’re no longer interested in acquiring the ski resort in Utah. That means Talisker is the owner of The Canyons, and some more real estate near Park City. While claims against American Skiing have been dropped, Vail still may seek damages in the form of cash from Talisker and the broker of the deal, Peninsula Advisers, LLC.
