The Professional Ski Instructors of America (PSIA) and American Association of Snowboard Instructors (AASI) today announced an extension of their partnership with Smith Optics until 2014. The deal will provide both eye-wear and helmets to the groups.

Smith Optics Marketing Director Tag Kleiner said, “The association has proven itself a reliable partner, and we look forward to continuing to supply their membership with our products for another term.”

The relationship appears to be mutual beneficial as Andy Hawk, marketing director for PSIA-AASI said, “We are excited to extend our partnership with Smith, their consistent support for the grassroots foundations of skiing and snowboarding is admirable, and their support for PSIA and AASI is exceptional.”

PSIA and AASI are the educational bodies of the nonprofit American Snowsports Education Association (ASEA) which features a combined membership exceeding 29,000 men and women dedicated to promoting snowsports through instruction. These organizations create standards for instructors and develop materials to be used as the main components of most ski and snowboard school training.
