Fancy yourself an artist? Well, if The Ski Channel pumpkin carving contest doesn’t quite get your creative juices flowing, why don’t you create an artistic design for a snowboard? Arbor and REI are teaming up to put on a snowboard design contest. The winner will get his/her deisgn on an Arbor snowboard to be sold exclusively at REI. The winner will also get a $1,000 gift card to REI. Four runners-up will get $500 gift cards. Starting November 2, you can submit entries, and the contest will close December 31st.

On the contest website, www.rei.com/arbor-contest, you can view the rules for the contest, as well as vote for submissions. The 5 artists who get the most votes will then be judged by Arbor and REI, and the winner of that round will then claim the grand prize. January 15, 2010 is the day we’ll find out who the winner is.

Tom Vogl is vice president of REI Marketing: “REI and Arbor’s values both focus around being earth friendly, while ensuring people have fun playing outdoors. We’re thrilled to provide an online forum for the outdoor community to discover artistic talents and get each other fired up about getting on the snow.”
