Austrian alpine ski racer Nicole Hosp tore her ACL ligament when she crashed at the recent Audi FIS World Cup opener in Soelden. Due to the severity of her injury and the poor timing, it seemed her season would be over.

But after emergency surgery, however, Hosp is hopeful that she’ll be ready to compete at the World Cup Finals in Garmisch, March 9-14. The classic German World Cup location is only 30 km from Hosp’s Austrian home, so for her, it will be like coming back on local turf.

The 2007 World Cup champion posted on her Web site that she “has accepted the injury” and has already begun the extensive goal-setting and rehabilitation process with her physiotherapist. According the champ, her knee will be “up to scratch again soon.”
