Levi gets the green light from FIS for Alpine World Cup races on November 14

Levi is a go!  The second stop on the alpine World Cup in Levi, Finland can now only be stopped only by a gigantic meteor hitting the earth.  Or the return of the Messiah.  Barring Lenny Bruce’s return, the International Ski Federation (FIS) has confirmed that snow conditions are satisfactory and racing will indeed happen.

Two slalom races, one for the boys and one for the ladies, will happen on the weekend of November 14 & 15.  The women are up first on the 14th, and that mean’s Lindsey Vonn will be in action.

Last year, Vonn threw a hockey stop into her second run and still won!  It was an absolutely ridiculous win, to have that big of a mistake and to still come out on top of the podium.  Vonn was skiing at another level that day, a performance of Tiger Woods proportions.  When Vonn is at her fastest, she’s clearly head-and-shoulders above the rest of the field.
