For amateur skiers and snowboarders seemingly unable to score an invite to top professional contests, Gatorade has come up with the perfect solution for you.

Building off the success of the summer version of the Gatorade Free Flow Tour, the organization recently announced the schedule for its inaugural 2010 winter competition season. The tour will consist of both superpipe and slopestyle events, and will be open to both male and female competitors. Girl snowboarders will feature their own contest groupings, where as girl skiers will have to compete with the boys.

The winners of each regional event will earn a spot to compete in the Gatorade Free Flow Tour Finals held in conjunction with the Dew Tour’s Toyota Championship, Feb. 5-7, 2010, and the overall champions in the four disciplines automatically earn a spot to compete against the pros in the first stop of the 2010-11 Winter Dew Tour.

The tour kicks off the weekend of January 9-10, and will make its first tour stops at Big Boulder in Lake Harmony, PA, as well as <a href="http://www.theskichannel.com/ski-resort/usa/co/Vail-Ski-Resort” title=”Vail” alt=”Vail” target=”Self”>Vail Ski Resort in Vail, CO. In total there will be 10 qualifier events at various resorts throughout the US. The initial round of the contest  series will conclude the last weekend of January, and riders will then only have a week to dial in their runs before being flown to the finals taking place February 5-7 at Mt. Snow Resort in Vermont.

Due to limited terrain offerings, Big Boulder, Mountain High and Brighton, will only host slopestyle contests.

All competitions are open to male and female amateur competitors 21 and younger for all snowboard and freeski disciplines. There are limited spots for all competitions, so register early. There will be a $20 entry fee not including lift tickets, and participants under 18 must bring a parent or guardian to the event to sign a liability waiver. Contest registration forms, waivers and detailed information are available at gatoradefreeflowtour.com.
