The stage is set. The staff of snowmakers is prepared, the guns and air compressors are ready. The terrain parks have been painted. So, why are the folks at Okemo Ski Resort in Vermont worrying about honoring their projected November 21st opening day? “All we need now is some cooperation from Mother Nature in the form of cold temperatures”, said Bruce Schmidt, VP and General Manager of the resort. The lack of snow and cold temperatures are making for some frowning faces over at Okemo, but nonetheless, they’re all prepared for a November 21st opening, so hopefully the El Nino-type weather that some other resorts have been hit with this year will spread to Vermont and grace Okemo as well.
