World Champion Lindsey Vonn dishes Banana Bread on Facebook

There’s no other way to say it: World Champion ski racer Lindsey Vonn simply rocks. Not only is she an amazing athlete (pundits have been comparing her to Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps), but she’s a kind person, too.

In an apparent response to requests for a Banana Bread recipe, Vonn posted the following on her Facebook fan page. Considering the first lady of skiing seems to turn all she touches to gold, we’re thinking this banana bread will taste pretty amazing. (And it’s healthy, too. Vonn cuts most of the butter and replaces it with fat-free apple sauce.)

Lindsey Vonn’s Banana Bread

Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees

Mix these ingredients in a medium bowl

1/4 cup butter*

4 old bananas

1 cup sugar (organic brown sugar is good)

1 egg

2-3 big scoops of organic apple sauce

In a big bowl mix these ingredients

1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour

1 tsp. Baking soda

1/4 tsp. Salt

A dash of nutmeg and cinnamon

Then mix both bowls together. Once that is mixed put it into a nonstick bread pan and bake for 50 minutes or until golden brown.
*You can also substitute ALL of the butter with one more scoop of apple sauce!
