It is a great day for Dish Network subscribers and for The Ski Channel as the two companies joined forces and completeted a long-term distribution agreement.

“DISH Network is excited to now offer VOD content that speaks to the growing popularity of skiing and other mountain sports,” said Andy Karofsky, vice president of Programming for DISH Network. “We are always exploring new programming that contributes to the depth of content available via our already extensive VOD service, and The Ski Channel is a perfect addition.”

With the addition of Dish Network, the channel can now be found on 7 of the top television distributors:

  • DirecTV
  • Dish Network
  • Time Warner Cable
  • Cox Communications
  • Brighthouse Networks
  • AT&T U-Verse
  • Verizon FiOS

In total over 21 million U.S. television households now have access to The Ski Channel.  Although there are some cable operators who still do not carry the channel, between DirecTV and now Dish Network, every U.S. household can get The Ski Channel.

“We are very excited to get a deal done with Dish Network,” said The Ski Channel, CEO Steve Bellamy.  “Dish Network is headquarted in Denver and loaded with skiers and mountain enthusiasts.  These people ‘get’ our programming.  We will be announcing more distribution shortly.”
