How to put a smile on your face: Move to a ski state

If you’re in need of a change of scenery, a new study released by the Gallup Organization could help you out.  It is called the Well-Being Index, and includes the following: overall evaluation, emotional health, physical health, healthy behaviors, and job satisfaction.  The survey generated the states in the U.S, where people are the happiest, and the research showed that states with wealthier, better educated, and more tolerant residents were the happier ones.  The highest levels of happiness were in the Mountain and West Coast States, and the data was collected from over 350,000 people.

And the winner of the happiest state in the U.S. prize is…the great state of Utah, with a score of 69.2 (out of a possible 100)!! We here at TSC aren’t surprised–just check out all of their awesome ski resorts and how they rocked LA this week.  Hawaii came in strong at number two, with Wyoming, Colorado, and Minnesota rounding out the top five.  There are plenty of ski resorts to board or ski at in Wyoming and Colorado, as well as in Minnesota–and it can’t be a coincidence that four out of the top five have them.  So if you’re in need of a pick-me-up, head out to a ski resort, enjoy the runs, and feel the smile spread across your face!
