New skis developed with active suspension

When you’re done skiing for the day, are you done because you feel like stopping, or because fatigue takes hold of you? Maybe your knees or lower back start to ache a little too much? Well, with the release of the UFOria and the UFOria XA skis with active suspension in them, those may not be valid causes to unstrap your boots anymore.

After two years of development, botique ski maker Anton Dynamics is planning an early release of these new 2011 skis. The whole suspension thing gives you consistent pressure on the tip and tail for better stability and control. In a press release this week, Anton said: “The Antons make carving effortless and skiers report less fatigue on the knees and body. In addition, independent front and rear progressive flex adjusters give the UFOria XA and the limited edition Carbon Series multiple personalities. Dial in a soft flexing cruiser or rip it up with a stiff GS racer.”

There will be a limited number of these available in December, for some mere chump change of $2,990 (UFOria XA with bindings) or $2,490 (UFOria standard with bindings). Check out AntonSkis.com for more!
