Ski with comedy at Deer Valley: Join Larry David and Neil Patrick Harris for Celebrity Ski Fest

Deer Valley Resort is about to open and not only that, they’re kicking off the ski season with their annual Deer Valley Celebrity Ski Fest on December 5 and 6, 2009. The invitational ski event pairs former Olympic skiers with television and film stars for a weekend of skiing and live music. It is all fun and games, but it’s also sort of not: Proceeds from the Fest will support the Waterkeeper Alliance, which supports and empowers Waterkeeper member organizations to protect communities, ecosystems and water quality.

“It’s natural (pun, here?) for us to kick our ski season off with a celebration,” says Deer Valley Marketing Director Coleen Reardon. “We celebrate the arrival of great snow, the start of a new ski season, the excitement of hosting celebrity guests and television crews to experience our mountains, and the satisfaction of helping out a non-profit organization we feel strongly about: the Waterkeeper Alliance.”

The Deer Valley Celebrity Ski Fest will include giant slalom races on both Saturday, December 5 and Sunday, December 6 on Deer Valley’s Birdseye ski run. Here’s the whopping news, though: Not only will the amazing Olympic stars and U.S. Ski Team legends Steve Mahre, Phil Mahre and Tommy Moe be there, but Cheryl Tiegs, Larry David, Bobby Kennedy, Jr., Cheryl Hines and Neil Patrick Harris will be, too (among other celebs).

We’re banking on Larry David and Neil Patrick Harris for some good laughs.
