The man who allegedly kidnapped, raped, and held Lake Tahoe resident Jaycee Lee Dugard captive for 18 years has apologized in a letter. This isn’t really one of those situations that will be mended with an “I’m sorry”, but Phillip Garrido issued the apology anyway. He started his handwritten letter with:

“First off I want to apologize to every human being for what has taken place.”

He then describes how religion cured him of his sexual deviancy:

“People all over the world are hearing testimony that through the spirit of Christ a mental process took place ending a sexual problem believed to be impossible.”

Jaycee has agreed to testify against Phillip Garrido and his wife/accomplice Nancy Garrido. She must face them in court and reveal the harrowing tale to all present, but hopefully it will be of great help to the case, and justice will be served.
