Hey Vermonters! Feel like spending this Thanksgiving shredding up the snow? Then the place to be for you is Okemo Ski Resort over Thanksgiving weekend.

On the actual day of giving thanks, November 26th, start skiing at 9 in the AM. Then, when its time for the feast of all feasts, know that the giant Thanksgiving buffet at the Coleman Brook Tavern will be open from 3PM to 8PM. Try out some chef-carved turkey breast with sage gravy, cranberry compote and cornbread and sausage stuffing. If turkey’s not your thing, try the braised lamb sirloin with mint demi-glace, and cider-poached king salmon with a Vermont maple dijon sauce. Don’t forget the Vermont farmhouse chowder, salads, fruits, veggies and sweet potatoes. Finish off with some apple pie or pumpkin cheesecake. Wow, is it lunchtime yet today?

Buffet is 29 bucks for adults and 15 bucks for kids 12 and under.

Then, the day after turkey day, you can start skiing and riding bright and early, at 8AM, and start burning off the previous night’s feast. If you’re feeling up to it, participate in the The Killarney What-I-Learned-This-Summer Rail Jam. It’s open to skiers and riders of all ages, and the entry fee is $20. Registration is scheduled from 8 to 10 a.m. in the Okemo Clock Tower Base Lodge mezzanine. The competition starts at 11 a.m. and the best trick wins $200.

Rock it on Thanksgiving, Okemo!
