USA Cycling numbers improve with return of Aspen’s Lance Armstrong

It could be that he recently bought a house in Aspen, or it could be the fact that he’s won the Tour de France a record seven times.  Regardless of the reason, membership numbers for USA Cycling have made a comeback, just like Lance Armstrong did this past year.  In fact, they may even reach an all-time high in enrollment by the end of the year, at 66,600 members.  2008 ended with 63,273 members, so this year could end with a 5% growth in membership.  What will happen to the popularity of the Ironman when Armstrong gives that a try in 2011? Only time will tell…
