Women ski jumpers to hear Olympic decision today

Today will most likely be the day that women ski jumpers learn whether or not their sport will be included in the Olympics. Their fight has been with the Vancouver Olympic Organizing Committee (VANOC) and the International Olympic Committee (IOC), although the women cannot face the IOC in Canadian court.

Attorneys will provide closing arguments today, and then a decision is expected to be made later this afternoon. The president of Women’s Ski Jumping USA, Deedee Corradini, has been a packleader on this case, and after the first day in court she said: “I am optimistic that right will prevail.”
