November 1st, we told you about cloud seeding among communists and capitalists.  A growing phenomenon, cloud seeding continues to proliferate.  Many major ski resorts spend money on cloud seeding.  Vail and Winter Park both shell out $140k a year on cloud seeding.

Venezuela’s President Hugo Chavez plans to spend the next week on a plane with Cuban scientists “zapping” clouds.

“I’m going in a plane; any cloud that crosses me, I’ll zap it so that it rains,” Chavez said.

We always talk about El Nino and its hoped for benefit at our favorite ski resort, but in Venezuela El Nino has had a horrible effect on the daily life of Venezuelans.  Suffering from severe drought brought on by El Nino, the government has had to ration water and electricit.

If the entire world seeds clouds, who’s going to grow them?
