Alta ski area must postpone opening day

Unfortunately, Mother Nature is not currently smiling on the Alta ski area in Utah. Due to a lack of snow and no storms set to come before Friday (when they wanted to open), it won’t be opening on schedule. Spokesperson Connie Marshall: “We’ve decided to let Mother Nature do her thing. Snowmaking has been robust but without something in the pocket we just aren’t comfortable going.”

A storm is supposed to arrive on Friday however, and if big enough, there’s a chance Alta could open up over the weekend. We’ll keep you posted. Park City Mountain Resort, Brian Head and Snowbird are also set to open this weekend. Snowbasin will hopefully open for business on November 26th, with Wolf Creek Utah and The Canyons following on the next day.  Powder Mountain should be next, on November 28, then Deer Valley on December 5 and Sundance December 11.
