Opening of first Midwestern ski area

Some good news for a Monday morning! The Midwest’s first ski area of the season is open, and it’s none other than Minnesota’s Wild Mountain. The area, located along the St. Croix river, northeast of Minneapolis, has a bit of reputation for early openings…it’s been known for them for the past 34 years!

Thankfully there was enough snow made Saturday night to warrant yesterday”s opening. Lift tickets are just $16, and this week it will be open from 4:00PM to 8:00PM. Next week’s times are unknown.

If you’re in the area, head out to Wild Mountain for some skiing or snowboarding, and have a great time!
