Google Chrome OS could make your ski lifestyle easier and more affordable

Google held a press conference today to update folks on the status of its in-development Google Chrome OS. While still at least a year away from release, the speculation coming from its release has been running rampant.

How fast will it be?

What price might it charge?

Will it make computers cheaper?

Currently, signs are pointing to yes with that last question. Some speculate that the new operating system might allow for the sale of a $100 Netbook. Really.

Now what can that do for you as a skier? Well for starters, it can make stalking your favorite pros on Twitter and Facebook a whole lot easier. The lightning-speed Chrome OS could allow you to boot up your Internet in seconds. No waiting around  worrying how Tom Wallisch or Bode Miller did in their contests this weekend. Secondly, you’ll be able to take that saved cash  from buying a Netbook, and spend it on items once unaffordable such as a pair of brand-new rockered skis, or an awesome ski vacation.

Best of all, because the operating system is a browser, you’ll be able to access your system from any computer. No worries about hard drives or any of that other junk. Thus making your ski vacation less stressful if you must do work…
